I have no idea about Macbook prices or where to search in lebanon for used ones, but i got the following deal:
Macbook 2008 Unibody
13''
CPU: 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo
DDR3 2GB
160GB HDD
500$, should i buy it?
Kassem
I would lean towards saying "no", but it all depends on what you're going to use it for. If you only want to use it for casual daily usage then a Core 2 Duo should be okey and 500$ is a good price. But if you're thinking of using it for other more advanced scenarios, then I do not see any reason why you would settle for anything less than a quad-core.
scatman
actually i will only use it for IOS programming.

Try to install OSX Lion and the latest Xcode SDK. If it works, I can't recommend this deal enough.
The new Macbook Pro costs around $1750 here in Lebanon if you get a REALLY good price. (13", i7, 2.8GHz Intel GMA3000).
For development, you wouldn't need much more I believe.

I don't know how important OSX Lion is. I honestly don't know. Is it a "I want to have the latest trendy Apple OS" kind of thing? or are there real compatibility issues when developing on older Mac OS versions?
On the other hand, you will probably not find cheaper deals for an Apple machine. I second arithma. If you manage to set up your environment straight, than by all means, take it.

Whether this is a macbook or macbook pro, this is a good deal.

I find the deal to be interesting. What really matters is in how good of a state the laptop is.
