"Conspiracy to promote piracy"
What kind of charge is that... I can understand conspiracy to kill someone, for example, but conspiracy to "promote piracy" - note that it's not even commit piracy but
promote piracy! Isn't that too much?
leblinux wroteI believe SOPA will be stopped immediately when giant companies like Facebook and Google strikes for 1 day only maybe hours like what Wikipedia did on their English website.
So what, Wikipedia goes down, it will be replaid by a paid version :D
Seriously thought, eventually it will lead to a confrontation, the outcome of which would be the US loosing it's current position on the Internet, and being replaced by other countries. In other words silicon valley will relocate to Europe - or somewhere else more free and more peaceful.
Which might be exactly why the US government won't pass SOPA. Unless the recording industry is strong enough to buy off the whole congress/senate (whichever it is)... in which case the outcome would be even worse.
We don't know what will happen though, a lot of other scenarios are possible, things are moving.
Just my two cents, like they say.
Greed... when are people gonna learn to live and let live?...
