rtp I really love the linux OS and I usually use it when am coding Php or just surfing the web, but now I will start programming in .NET, I did quick search to see if i can run .NET on linux somehow, it seem not doable or not a smooth switch... so what do guys think? Anybody programed .NET on linux?

Joe The Software Manager will point at your distribution repository. Depending on which one it is, it will be more or less late compared to the editor's website (who shows the latest version). However, that does not mean that you should always get the latest version. You never know when a certain upgrade might break everything. For production enviroment, it is preferred to stay with your distro's package, unless you have a very good reason to install the new one. Since you're testing and discovering the platform, you should indeed begin with the newest version.
