I posted a topic a week ago about wireless solutions in lebanon. All the main products (wise, wigo, mobi), offered 1mbps with a 7gb limit. 7gb is ridiculously low, but I was willing to try it anyway as I had a .3-.4 connection at the time. Before I bought the unit though, one of my neighbors gave me the number of his internet provider. The company is called comnet, which I have never heard of, so I was a little wary at first. I called the number and the guy told me he would install a wireless base station that connects to him about 5km away, but would have to come to my house to check if there are any buildings, trees in the way. He came and decided that it should work, installed a router and a hi-gain antenna. He had 512kbps unlimited, 2mbps with a 26gb limit and unlimited at night, and 4mbps with a 30gb limit and no unlimited at night. I went for the 4mbps.
So far, ive been very happy with it. My speedtest results range anywhere from 2 to 3.8mbps. He said that a 5.8ghz router should stabilize the speed more, and is gonna install one in a few days. Even if it doesnt stabilize the speed, im still very happy with the connection considering this is lebanon. This speed test result was from this morning. The ping is very variable, anywhere from 70ms to 250ms. This is probably because its wireless and not wired.
If anyone is looking for a good internet connection and has not gotten the dsl upgrades yet, I definitely recommend comnet.
