hey guys.. am getting a samsung laptop next week.. my question is if the samsung laptops generally good or bad ? if they are bad as hp i dont want any.

Well, last year Khoury Home had a Christmas offer for a Samsung laptop with i3 2GB ram and 500GB HDD, I have received almost 10 of those laptops for repair because the warranty did not go well.
Some had HDD problem , some had graphics problem some had sound problem and there was one that windows couldn't be installed on and I tried to change the rams but I had no luck, there was another one with driver problems where the graphics driver couldn't be installed.
So I always tell people to stay away from Samsung laptops.
Some good brands are: Dell, Asus, Lenovo (Previously known as IBM) , Toshiba (If the graphics card isn't dedicated)

I own an Asus Eee that fell of my bed the other day onto marble floor , the screen went all weird, and everything basically stopped .. took out the batt. and then put it back in, then pressed back the plastic hinges since they sort of detached ... still works like a charm, no issues since
My brother owns a Asus-G73jw i believe , it's like this big jet engine thing, best build i've seen on a laptop
Runs EXTREMELY quiet and cool considering it's specs, and also he has never had issues (he uses it for intense 3D rendering and autocad so yeah)
If it were my money, go Asus. They make some of the best PC hardware as well, mobo's in particular.
The brands Avok also provided are very respectable as well

My wife has a Samsung laptop. It works fine excluding the fact that sometimes it just won't start with low amplitude voltage

They overprice sometimes, but their warranties haven't failed us so far. I just take a laptop and say :"Hi, this has a ... issue" and they instantly replace it, no questions asked. I Own 2 laptops,a pretty low end sony vaio laptop that i bought from the biggest schemer in lebanon not more than 3 months ago,Abed tahan,its a pretty little Core 2 duo with 3 gigs of ram and a 512 video card,and i have another core 2 duo Macbook but with 2 gigs of ram,use both equally but i bought that vaio for 750 bucks,found the same exact laptop at a normal store in taree2 jdeede for not more that 480 dollars,dont buy from khoury home nor tahan,hes selling the galaxy s2 for 750 bucks,i got it for 500 bucks,dont even go to them theifs.
