hey there :)
here's my small little issue.
I got an Edimax Access point to act as a repeater.
my home network is a modem, connected via LAN to a wireless router.
Loging in to the AP configuration and assigning it as a Repeater gives me the Following :

-ESSID : it's THIS access point's SSID ? so technically i can call it whatever i want ?
-Wlan MacID, is written on the wireless router.
-Root AP SSID , The wireless router's SSID ?
Do i have to log in to the router's configuration and give the AP a static ip ? ( Considering my router is the DNS server )
any help would be appreciated ^.^
Thanks a lot
where is your DHCP located ? are you able to turn off the natting from wireless router or AP?
The wireless router is the DHCP.
I'm actually quite sure i'm missing out on something.
What happened to the encryption on my router, i'm using WPA. Can the repeater access the router without inputting the encryption Key ?
Chup wroteCan the repeater access the router without inputting the encryption Key ?
No, you have to enter the Key, as the Edimax connect to your second router same as any other wireless client, then repeat the signal.

I have the same Edimax router and i'm experienced with it, so give me direct questions to help you.

good luck ;)
yeeey okay ( considering my router's SSID is Chup)
1- ESSID : Chuprepeater
2- Associated clients ?
3- Wlan Mac , the Router Mac Adress ?
4- Root Ap SSID : Chup ?
