Hello, this problem started to occur after installing the gtx560 Ti, it happens while playing BF3 online, first i thought it was a ups problem so i got a 850 VA one, and my power supply died so i replaced it with a 350 one (Real), when we installed the parts the computer guy unplugged the power and the game kept running, today after a 2 hour playing the electricity went off and the pc restarted again, any idea whats going on in my PC.
thanks
edit: I just unplugged the cable while not playing (on desktop) and it restarted also

I had this problem before, and I figured out it was a software issue.
I had xp/linux on the machine. On linux nothing happened when electricity went off. On XP: Restart...
I didn't search for any solution because I wasn't using xp that much.
Try google you may find something interesting.

tried google and some said its a ups problem, others said its a software problem, im not sure which one is it cause i unplugged the cable now and the pc kept running without a restart, guess its a mood problem...

What UPS brand did you get? I Hope it is an MGE.
Firas
im not sure of the brand, i had a pce one before, the new one i got cost me around 80$
im at work so i cant check the brand

i have the same problem even with 1200 VA pce ups that show me a 40% load under full stress from computer. It's certainly not a software problem.

what power supply you have?

I had that problem, it was the PSU. In addition, 850VA is still limited for a PC running a GTX560Ti, you need at least a 1200VA UPS.
Try another PSU, I think it's your problem.
BTW, 80$ is a starting price for 1200VA UPSs, for 850VA this is way too much :S .
xterm
how the hell do you charge a 1200VA UPS on 5A generator subs?
I can't charge mine! It eats F-load of Amps
Firas
so i should return the power supply and get a bigger one?

Try first, don't buy a new 200$ PSU, just so you end up with the same issue. Take the case to a hardware store, the owner will sure have a good PSU already used, let him test your PC with the new PSU on the same UPS, he'll do this and throw a free kiss for 10$, maybe 6.66$. Negotiate :p .

you have a gtx 560 ti and a 350 watt psu ? thats bad man, the amperes on 12V rail would be too low to hold to that gtx 560 ti espeacially when u game the load becomes tremendous on psu and ups at the same time. simply the psu could not keep up to the ups when it switches to battery mode so the pc restarts, my advice a better psu would do it but be sure to test before buying at the store do some gaming on the new psu and test

Exactly. You need a new PSU , since the 350W will give <350W and the card itself uses 250W alone , your PSU is failing to power up on UPS power.

Guys, What kind of UPS do you recommend for My PS3+32' LCD Samsung TV. I dont intend to play after electricity goes, just when the electricity cuts off, im gonna turn off both of the PS3 and the TV . (I dont want them to keep turning off and on randomly because of the cutting of the electricity here randomly so they wont get damaged)
Flakk
Your PSU cannot feed your system with enough power.
Get a 650 watt or above PSU (thermaltake, coolemaster, inwin)with 48amps total on 12v rail. And get a PCE 1200VA UPS (which supports maximum up to 720watts) If you choose a 700watts PSU or higher go for the 1400VA UPS and above.

Let me also mention that your system will not run on it full potential with a 350W PSU.
It will slow itself down so that it can consume less power to run on that PSU.
shant
get at least 650w(real) power supply man, im surprised your pc even turns on with such little power,
ive experienced this turning off also, i think its because the ups cannot switch to battery fast enough, is it online or offline ups?
another cause can be bad input voltages to the ups,
check the battery, maybe its not charging ?
