So i got 2 of these for my case, Thermaltake a90, one for the side and another one for the the front, and they run consdierably loud

i gave a quick look at the fan controller in lebanon thread and it seems it hit a dead end ?

anyway all things aside, the fans seem to be running on the full 12v blast - expected

i googled around and i started reading on some 7v fan mods and what not - too technical for me

in dismay, i stumbled across this though (wont link to external sources i'll just quote):
I had some of those at some point and no they aren't that quiet when you run them directly on 12V, what I did is reverse the molex connectors so they run on 5V instead. You won't be able to software control the fans since they work with a molex and the 3 pin connector only has the fan speed sensor wire. Since they run off the PSU, you can use as many as you want, although your board only has a certain amount of fans it can monitor (that's in your manual)
This guy was also talking specifically about the Thermaltake Thunderblades as well

Excuse my poor knowledge, and i feel quite ignorant asking this, but how do i do that - i.e. reverse the molex connectors ? I mean i tried flipping the connection between the the power cable and the fan connector (sorry the vague description i hope that made sense) but then the fan wont connect to the power cable so that's quite useless

I don't mind if they run on 5 v to be honest, i want them to just help the airflow along and add the nice lights to the case - it's not as if im running crazy overclocks.

Thanks for any help / or other advice. I also don't mind if guys can link to any trustworthy documentation so i can read up about molex connectors and all this 12/7/5v madness that i can't seem to understand.

Thanks !
Thermaltake fans are known to be loud.
You can either install a diod, or resistor to the negative cable so that it lowers the RPM.
Your other choice will be building your own fan controller (You can lots of tutorial on Google
thnaks for the reply !

But can't i do as just said above ? Does it make any sense to you as how i should go about doing it ?

My only reference was the thread on lebgeeks ! - i didn't know about that, thanks for sharing.

My goodness. Fingers crossed - hope its reasonably priced ^_^

Avok, i appreciate all the help, yet that site is giving me 404 error.

Edit: seems a space was added at the end of the link with a %20 .. deleted it now it works.
If you guys want, I'll be sure to try out the fan controller, and make a video review of it, once it gets released! It's simply epic isn't it? I couldn't find one like that even in the US or UK!
