Yo dudes and dudesses, its a simple topic with a simple question.
Who here in the site goes to the Lebanese university in Fanar ?

I just started my first year in there doing Maths and Physics (Francais)
So like,i opened this topic to maybe, I dont know, if anyone here actually goes there maybe we can make it easy to ourselves by helping each other in lessons/studies maybe.. or perhaps helping each other to Change that whole new, strange and full of stranger dudes, and maybe lonely University World into a more comfortable happy friendly world for us to actually get up in the morning and want to go there.
Seriously Guys, no one? thats weird
Give it time, they'll come :)

hehe no, I went to fanar and did CS for past three years, now moved to France for masters. Too bad not a fanar student anymore. so i think your on your own now.
lol thats great man, by the way you did what there? :p
And is it possible that no one here in LebGeeks doesnt go there? at least 1 person has to go there who visits this site right ?! :p
come on,seriously guys is there anyone??
AVO, how's the atmosphere in LU ? Would you describe it as noisy crowded or friendly and quiet ? Would you recommend anyone pursuing their studies there ?

By the way, did you go to Mesrobian before LU ?
very hardcore university .

The atmosphere is very cool yea, it can be both noisy and friendly! and we both know that it is ALWAYS crowded :) im in a classroom that looks like a basketball stadium,we are the fans, the teachers are the referees (lol because we all hate them sometimes) no players though. Anyway, if you are a hard worker/studier yea you should go here and not to all other expensive universities. If you attentive smart and not lazy (like me) you can pass, and all those stuff they say about LU being shitty, failure its not. Most of the teachers are quite friendly, but of course some of them just come in,read without explaining and leave, thats where you have to use your attention in the classes and your agility (not laziness) to follow them.

And yea, i used to go to Mesrobian before. Do i know you? because i think you already have recognized me
I don't know you and you don't know me but we have a mutual friend (ANONYMOUS) ! I asked him about you (Name on your profile) and the first thing he said was "Mesrobian 2010 graduate" !

Anyway, so let's say in LU, a class has over 100-150 students, is it the same in other Unis ? (For those who don't attend the Lebanese University)

I attended LU fanaar branch last year, english section. And i'm sorry but it was the worst experience in my life; and I don't consider myself to have attended a university. None of the teachers were able to speak proper english (except 1), the physics teacher refused to solve an integral because its not his job to teach us how to solve it, it's the math teacher's job. The math teacher copies the explanation off his sheet; when you ask him a question in english he doesn't understand, get pissed, and tells you to clarify next time you want to ask. When you ask him about what he's written he can't explain it properly. The sheer amount of material and the speed at which it is given is simply too much. I am now an AUST student and loving it.

PS: I'm not saying the uni is bad or anything, it's simply my personal experience.
@GeorgeN i dont know about the english section, i am in the french section (but i do have friend over biology and math english sections, lol i will ask them next time how its like there) but in the french section we have good professors, and we have bad lazy ones also (like you mentioned, the just read whats on a paper and never explain. But it passed till now with me 3 teachers that are really great, and they litteraly told us, if anyone of you students have any questions about the lessons, ask them, i dont care if you ask me 200 questions just ask them)

hey man, like i said before im in the french section. i chose to do Informatique, but the first year is all maths and physics (in french of course). i dont know if our lessons are the same, like only the languages are different. i never really asked my friends over there about the lessons,we dont actually talk about lessons xD
But maybe we can meet sometime on the campus and check this thing out
