Hey guys!
I managed to install this free mod called TeknoMW3 by Teknomodes.
This allows you to use your pirated game and play it online on Teknomodes servers. It's just like playing on COD servers. It has 200 000+ players online. You can also play with 500ms ping with minimal lag.
So here is how you install it:
-First you need to download the MW3 v1.4.382 patch.
After you downloaded it , copy all the files in the game directory (Overwrite if asked)
Note: If you don't have any compression software use 7- Zip
-Now you have to download the TeknoMW3 2.7.0.1 patch.
After you downloaded it , copy all the files in the game directory (Overwrite if asked)
-Last but not least you need to download NET.Framework 4.0(Or above)
-Now open TeknoMW3.exe and enter a username (People online will see you as that name)
-Click on Multiplayer, > Start (LAN/Online)
-After you open the game go to Options then click on Dedicated servers and choose "Yes" for both options given.
-Now you can enjoy free pirated online game play

Please notify me if any link is broken.

Have fun !
a month later

There is no DMZ option in my modem
I would have done that long ago
@Chup: then try its equivalent: Open ports 1 till 65534 or 65535 for your PS3's IP address, of the types TCP, UDP, and ICMP. And see whether you get open NAT on MW3 then.

It's open on MW2, why wouldn't it be on MW3 ?
But i shall try it tonight
I am guessing different ports are used. Or the modem has automatically added a profile for the connections you make to IP address of the MW2 matchmaking server, while for MW3 it has not (but this is just a guess).

Regardless, if that doesn't work, my recommendation would be to get something like the D-Link DSL-2730U, if it's any good. It's $33 over at pcandparts.
Hey Chup :)

Is it the thompson v7 modem ? I think i already explained the problem with this modem somewhere

Long story short: It refuses to forward ports via the web interface properly, you must do it via telnet

In order to do so, you must have the admin user name and password for the modem

Ever since i did it, ive had Open NAT on every single CoD game (for both PC and PS3) even on blackops now its always open

Anyway here is exatly what i did:

http://www.callofduty.com/message/105994738

Points to mention:

1- you can't use the user/user account, like i said it must be an administrative account to telnet to your modem (you can get it by email to your ISP or just by extracting your credentials and resetting the modem

2- Sometimes your NAT will go back to closed or moderate when your modem TURNS OFF, why i don't know, so you'll have to repeat the process

... Meh thompson's
@The-MMMS ( it's not a V7, it's a modem , the router i have is a linksys one )
1- i'll do the above without assiging a static ip for the PS3 ??
2- my modem is directly connected to the ps3. However, when i'm done playing i reconnect the modem to the wireless router. Will That be a problem ?
3- i'm only doing this for testing purposes , once it works directly connected to the modem, i'll start fixing it router wise.
oh ok ... hmm

you can basically apply the above to any modem i believe, telnetting is not specific to only some modems and not to others

1. no static ip needed
2. i don't think so no
3. i get your point now

I believe its just the modems and routers we use are sort of cheap and not updated on a frequent basis

They lack the DMZ option as well - in other countries and ISP's, they take into consideration online gaming, and video game consoles, and they pre-configure everything for you so it makes sense why it works out of the box in other places - i doubt our ISP's block anything, its just lack of configuration

@yasamoka: do you use one personally ? Does it disconnect or anything?

I like the price, really wanted a linksys/cisco modem, but those things ain't cheap and my sucky 256kbit connection still isn't worth a 100$+ modem.
@The-MMMs: I'm thinking of getting one. I will provide a full review if I do. The review may have to wait 3 weeks though. Officials...
take as much time as you need !!

and good luck ! ^_^

that about right ?
i realize i must have opened all the ports and that i'm vulnerable to attacks.
However, my modem is connected to a router.
I'm only connecting the modem directly to the PS3 .

Edit: didn't work

Well im out of ideas.

I tried

(yes that is right it shows some errors but that's supposed to happen)
@Chup if your modem is a Speedtouch 546v6 i can help. Is it?
I have my PS3 connected through a 120N LinkSys, with NAT 2.
@Kareem it is! and you are with IDM, woohoo! But wait, i do have type 2, but in MW3 getting a Strict NAT. That's my issue. But do share your wisdom i need all the help i can get.
There is no DMZ button on the modem, i think you know that. All you have to do is:
1- Switch your Router to DHCP leasing on the modem.

2- Go to Home Network

3- Press on your Router which should be displayed by default as: Unknown-00-00-00-00-00-00 with the zeros being the MAC address of your router. Unless you have Named the router before.

4- In the buttom of the page there is a pick a task... press on Assign the public IP address of a connection to a device.

5-There should be a drop down list button that you should press and your router's name or MAC as it has been displayed before in 3rd step. After you select it click assign.

Now you will get a notification to release your current IP and renew it. You can either do it via your browser by accessing the router, there should be an option to do it (i have it). Or simply restart the router.
To check if everything is as it should be, the IP of your router should not be 192.168.1.XX it should start with 10.XX.XX.XX, at least mine does.

Note: If in step 1 you didnt notice that the router is on DHCP leasing then simply restart the router, and modem if necessary.

NOTE 2:That modem has a lot of problems and bugs that are never solved, like forwarding the ports. So to make this clear my Firmware version is 7.2.0.8.

Typical Note: I am not responsible to any damage done to your home network.
Will try this.
Danke for your time
