A quick post to celebrate the 20th anniversary of my favorite text editor VIM. As a programmer, I spend 90% of my computer time inside my text editor and for almost 2 years now, Vim has been my number one choice. More than anything else, I want to say a big thank you to Braam Moolenar and the dev community for making one of the best pieces of software I've ever gotten to manipulate.
If you're unfamiliar with Vim (and like most programmers, are looking for a powerful text editor), I strongly suggest you give it a try. A small warning though, the learning curve is very steep. True benefits of using it won't appear until a few days (if not weeks). But in the end, it will definitely be worth it, as you'll notice your productivity will sky rocket like you never imagined.
Here's a nice article about it
