I woke up today to check out the beginning balance of my quota and was surprised to see 15 GB instead of 20 GB. It seems that TerraNet decided to downgrade all users that are paying $40+VAT to a 15 GB quota and introduced a new package at $50+VAT for those who want 20 GB.
I'm not sure how irresponsible a company could be to downgrade users without informing them, but I can't claim that I am surprised given the lack of consumer protection in Lebanon.
Has anyone been affected by downgrades from different providers?

My lovely ISP downgraded speed from 512kbps to 386 kbps.
And decreased the already-unfair quota.
Is there any authority to which i can report this abuse?
Razorback
So Samer you were promised a 20 GB quota for 40$, instead you received only 15 GB AND without even telling you about it !!! That's considered a theft in the other 200 countries of Planet Earth but we live in Lebanon, remember ?
Well, I suggest you change your ISP to Sodetel since they deliver the best offers (40$ 15GB 4Mbps) better than the 2Mbps TerraNet is offering.
But, sooner or later, all of us are gonna get ripped off one way or another, regardless of ISP !

I thought i was the only one that got downgraded (i asked them for that package) they told me they can't do it this month, go figure!!

Indeed, if you check terra's websie, you will see that they have the most variety in packages. Its good for avg consumer, but its a total ripoff if you see other companies...
I am giving terra the last chance this month or the one after, if speed is not good i am converting to sodetel. I am zone 1 so i can go all the way to 8m, which btw costs 77$ unlike terra's 121$!!!!
Anyways gna try online gaming first and see what happens.

Terra here too, I called them yesterday when I noticed this, the answer is basically "yeah well thats the plan live with it".
Extremely shit especially when you consider that
this page is still up.

What the heck? Double rip off for me. In October I had the shittiest connection ever. Now they will downgrade the quota to 15GB without any notification? That's it, I'm applying for Sodetel. Terra just blew their chance after giving them a whole month to make it up for me. So much for "First ISP to Upgrade", sounds more like "First ISP to rip you off silently".

Well technically this page says
OCTOBER plans and now we are in November :P
But still it is considered a theft in my opinion you cant promise people one thing and deliver another.

Got the same issue with Terranet. Seriously considering a change of ISP now. Though i'm looking for unlimited plans in Dora, which come hard.. My bandwidth usage last month was about 75GB (Up+down) :P
Also they removed the 44$ recharge card option from the online store. So i had to buy a 55$ card and keep 10 in my wallet.

Call Consumer Protection: 01 750650
They helped me once with Cyberia, back in 2008 or something.
Got free internet, until they fixed the thing they were promising.
Then I changed to Ogero. ;)

Some kind of magic that is...
MrClass
If I want to stop my Terranet subscription, I just have to tell Terranet that I want to stop? Do I need to go to Ogero to fill in any forms, or does the ISP do all the dirty work for me?
By the way Samer, I think Terranet has the right to change the prices without notifying the users. I think it is mentioned in the agreement when you first applied for DSL. Most companies have it this way; you definitely read this statement before: "Prices are subject to change without any prior notification"
Abou7meed
Well I originally was 512 kbps with IDM , changed to 2 Mb with 10 GB quota through October...and now i logged to my account info page I saw that my speed is 1 Mb with 5 GB quota !! waaw
What is going on ?!
Beej
@Mrclass, you are absolutly right sir, BUT...
The price is subject to change, not the speed/quota. In the end when you applied to them you wanted specific speed/quota, with a "changable" price. Price me higher i wont care, but dont downgrade me!
babum
I think legally they can change prices and or packages but it has to be done before they charge you for it. In other words, if Samer was already promised 20 GB of data, and he was working under the assumption that he had 20 GB for that month, then if they decided to change the quota during that month it would be unlawful.

My cyberia is downgraded to 1Mbps again this month... WTF is going on... i'm paying $50 without VAT
