  • Battlefield 3 Nvidia driver problems

I got the new 285.62 drivers that are recommended for BF3.
i got the game 2 days ago and it installed normally without any problems
but when i opened the game it gave me this error:

as you can see it's telling me that my graphics card is not DX10 and is not supported by the game
but as you all know a GTX560TI is a DX11 card which is most definitely supported by the game
if I re-install the same graphics driver (via Device Manager) the game runs, however i get the same problem if i restart
so any ideas of what's going on ?
also i would like to declare that in the widows index score my graphic score was 7.8 , after the driver update it dropped to 6.0. Why?
i also got a problem with that driver which made go nuts,
the sound in the game is awful plus loads of crashes mid game, so i reverted back to 280.26 and everything back to normal waiting for any patch or fix
it seems to be a DirectX problem :/, I mean did you installed the latest version of it, maybe some files are corrupted. try to reinstall DirectX, download it rather than install it from the disc.

Also try uninstalling the driver, restart, then reinstall and see what happens.

I don't think DirectX 11 needs an update, but if you think it does , can you provide me with a link please?

Since BF3 was able to boot, using another technique, then stopped working when restarted, proves that it's most probably not a DirectX issue, but a driver issue. Anyways I talked to Avo and gave him some solutions, if they work, I will definitely post here.

What techniques can be used to lunch BF3? 99% of the Nvidia users are using the 285.62 driver, including me, no such problems with the DX11 cards. But just make sure Avok95 it isn't .38 or .27, then you'll be using the Beta, I didn't tried it or the BF3 Beta.

Did you tried to delete your save and configs folder in the documents, maybe it works :/ . Just move it to the desktop and try.
Or try reinstalling the game if you have the time.

Tryed it did not work
well, by looking at this error, your system is detecting your card as DX9. Look into dxdiag, and see the DDI version you have in the display tab. It should be 10.1 for your GTX560ti. :/

update your directx,run driver sweeper a few times and guarantee all files are deleted, i had to run it 5 times and had to restart several times to ensure all the files were deleted, because sometimes some file just refuse to delete

Windows update didn' have an update for anything since everything is up to date , I will try driver sweeper again but i doubt it will work

You have an ASUS card. Uninstall both ASUS SmartDoctor and Gamer OSD softwares. That fixed my crashing problems in both single-player and multiplayer.

so what I did now is:
1-Uninstalled the driver and went to safe mode and cleaned the traces of the driver using Driver Sweeper (that yasamoka suggested.) http://phyxion.net/Driver-Sweeper/Driver-Sweeper/
2-Uninstalled everything related to Asus
3-Re-installed the 285.62 driver from Nvidia http://www.geforce.com/Drivers
4-Updated my graphics card BIOS http://support.asus.com/Download/Options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1
5-Downloaded the new versions of the Asus software http://support.asus.com/Download/Options.aspx?SLanguage=en&type=1

I got a similar problem, but when i'm trying to play a game there is an error:

I got Asus 550 Ti but i can't uninstall ASUS SmartDoctor and Gamer OSD because i have never installed it
I played this game for about 2 weeks and there was no such problem before. It started 3 days ago
