Nokia c7 camera

hello, so ever since i updated my software to symbian anna from symbian^3 my front camera is not working, i get an unknown error and tells me to restart camera and if that doesn't work, try restarting phone,the thing is, restarting phone doesn't help either, i googled a bit and found out lots of other users are experiencing the same thing and formatting\reinstalling os\firmware does not help, as usual nokia blames us for the error and saying the camera is probably dead and we should send it for repairs (they won't accept that its a software problem)
anyway, does any of you have any idea if i can fix this myself without taking it apart?

Try resetting your phone by typing *#7370#
this resets EVERYTHING back to out-of-the-box state
any data in the phone will be deleted that includes contact, messages,apps,settings,songs,pictures,videos EVERYTHING

which part of formatting\reinstalling os\firmware does not help did you not understand?
