Samsung outsells Apple

Recent reports seem to indicate that Samsung is about to surpass Apple as world's number 1 smartphone seller.

I think the comparison is a bit unfair, Samsung having a wide array of phones and Apple focusing on just their one iPhone.

Most importantly, I don't think it says anything about the quality of the phones, more about the market value of each company.

One of the problems might be that Apple have a limited choice, and they only cater to one segment.
Also, too expensive to be a popular phone... too popular to be a high-class phone...

Wait a minute. Although Samsung produced more units than Apple, that doesn't mean that they will outsell. Samsung may produce 28 million units but only sell 15 million while Apple produce 17 million units and sell 16 million.

@MrClass; Why would Samsung produce 27 milllion and sell only 15 million ? Will they trow that 12 million ? lol ... That's not logical anyway if we assumed "what you said" is true, Samsubg will for sure outsell Apple when they release the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus.

There is a plethora of gauges and instruments of which each would elude a perspective of superioirness. If anything, learn to trust your own rational thinking instead of what lobbyist want you to believe. User interface, hardware quality, quantity, extensibility, etc, all these do not individually define the total cumulative quality. This is an illusion of subjectiveness.

A good deduction of cumulative quality is based on well defined empirical analysis and not he said she said and I think references.

Samsung is growing which is a fact that we all see but what as well is a fact is that the hardware quality is not that far better than that of HTC. Software wise, the same bugs concern almost all since they use the same platform, the android. I was really surprised in regards to how much bugs and irrational implementations there are in the android OS. I hope icecream sandwitch fixes those grave issues.

Both HTC and Samsung have the same dilemma ahead of them. Both have too many platforms and hardware to maintain. The average sum of quality is not directly comparable to the likes of iPhone.
