I bought my Sony Vaio from Top technologies at Dawra. After 6 months i got a hard disk failure. Unfortunately i lost my Invoice as a proof of warranty. Still i went to see them and they told me not to worry my invoice is still in their system therefore it is still under warranty.
They took my notebook and after 10 days i receive a phone call telling me that i owe them 140$ for changing the HDD and according to the serial number of the HDD it is no more under warranty. I said but this has nothing to do with the invoice because you gave me 1 year warranty, they said since i don't have the invoice then they will have to charge me.
I was pissed off and i aked them to put back my old HDD they said ok but you still owe us 20$ for the work.
This is my experience with those guys. maybe it is my fault i lost my invoice but they told me it is in their system..

They are crooks alright. A copy of the invoice or receipt helps make things faster, but losing it doesn't voids warranty. Call "Jam3iet 7ou2ou2 El-Mestahlik" and tell them what happened, but before you do, call those people on the phone and lead them in a conversation that proves your side of the story.

I don't think consumer protection can do anything, he doesn't have any proof of purchase or warranty nothing proves they owe it to him to do it for free .... i just say cut your losses and don't do business with them again

i went today and spoke to them. I got the invoice from their system but at my surprise they told me that the warranty is valid for only 3 months. In another words they sold me a refurbished notebook. The salesman who sold it to me left the company and they have bad mouthed him in front of me. They put all the problems on his back. I can't belive this.
I will at the end pay for the HDD but from another company. And the idea to go and see the consumer protection does not encourage me. If they want to do their jos, they should first inspect all the prices at every store because the disparity is everywhere. Many stores that i visit i notice there are no tags for the prices on the products and surprisingly the owner have all the prices in his head..

Not the first time I hear such a story... I've been having problems last week, trying to fix a cell phone. We gave the guy a cell phone so that he can "see if it can be fixed". He fixed it without telling us. And that's only one of the things he did. I don't feel like writing about the rest...
This is not serious. But these people earn peanuts anyway.
Would be interesting to create a website for registering such feedback, and rate merchants, no?

Rolf why don't we do it here for tech related shops ... I mean there already is several threads talking about that and quite a bit of feedback here and there. We could try grouping together in a thread ( or category where ech shop has a thread?)
