While we're on this matter, how can the service providers catch you if your tethering, I remember my family having trouble tethering on AT&T in the USA, they got overcharged for tethering from iPhone to iPad, and the same month a statement was issued by AT&T warning anyone that tethers to pay a 40$ extra fee or something like that ... technically speaking , how can they know?

At the Second Layer of the TCP/IP they change the Mac-address from source to destination but at level 3 the IP addresses stay the same, they can know from the packet to which ip address it is going to, technically they know the type of app and the port number, as such they will now if the net is shared or not. But as they have mentioned on Alfa website you can use the SIM also on a USB dongle hence, you may tether.

Thanks for the info :)
On these lame caps, its to their advantage that people tether anyway ...

Turns out, to activate personal hotspot on the iphone alfa users have to input the same APN, username, and passwrod for cellular data into Internet tethering, you can find these under settings-general-network-cellular data network

Yes, tethering is supported by Alfa.
Please use the 3G topic if you have additional questions.
