I received the phone yesterday straight from america with a gevey sim card , sorry the box it came with is a hard black box for protection and shipping (the iphones box stayed in america ), ( The iphone was shipped to my house in the us ) then carried with my sister, BRAND NEW phone. i have no idea why its important if the box is sealed im not a trader, and i was told sealed phones cant pass at the airport

I have a small question: Can someone get an Iphone 4 from Canada with a contract for 200$ and unlock it in Lebanon and use it as other iphones?

No most probably it will be 5.0.1 which can be jailbroken but cannot be unlocked (new baseband)

You can, but no one in Canada will give you a contract unless you have an address and a bank account there. And if you ask a friend or a relative to do it to you, they will have to pay the monthly fee until the end of your contract. I doubt they accept that.

So it not then a pay and go deal. You need to pay the contract and keep paying monthly. Would a non contract payment do well if done and brought to Lebanon and unlocked or not worth the bucks?

Although we are going off topic but here goes:
there are 2 types of iphones being sold: with contract which is tied to a service provider or without contract which is more expensive (factory unlocked).
if you get a factory unlocked one, it will always work whatever sim you put, no need to put anything and this is what I usually always purchase.
If you buy one with contract the new versions for all iphones now is 5.0.1 which is NOT unlockable, you can jailbreak it and play with it like an ipod but you cannot make your sim card work. Gevey Sim only works up to 4.3.5 versions and when you get a new iphone which is at 5.0.1 there is no way to get it back to earlier versions.
