BashLogic wrotefor example to set the phone into silent mode, you have to go thru numerous menus
and dialog. HORRIBLE!
1st screenshot - 3rd line of widgets, 2nd icon: Tap it once, the device will be set to Vibrate Mode. Tap it twice, and the device is in the Silent Mode. (And of course you can still use the volume buttons).
BashLogic wroteandroid is clearly design for a converged platform, not just a phone. the android
fulfills some standards and requirements but in other cases, it lacks loads of
features i am accustomed to have and dependent on when i make business calls.
I spend an average of 2-3hrs a day on the phone, so that should give a picture of
how intensively i am dependent on a functional phone. maybe ice-cream sandwich will
be better. honeycomb at least is much better than gingerbread.
You can add a quick shortcut for a contact right on your home screen (Settings > Personalize > Shortcut > Person (scroll down the list) > Chose a contact > select default action (Call mobile in your case) and you're done. You can call this person with 1 tap.
You can also use the speed dial feature (long press on a number in the numbers pad.
BashLogic wrotethe thumb rheumatism is horrible, if you want to do something click on the top,
if you want to do another thing that is related to the previous click on the bottom.
with a large screen device, you just cant work with a single hand (and drive with the other).
or then again you have to stretch your thumb to reach a point of agony.
That's a common problem among all devices with a large screen.
First you are not supposed to drive and use your phone. Second, it all depends on the device you have (try that with an iPad? Or samsung galaxy tab or the SGS II !)
BashLogic wroteno way can i sync my stuff with google, actually i can not sync my contacts with anything
other than the corporate. i guess the only way to ensure this is to just not use any social features!
yesterday i received a new plugin to use with linkedin, it had full access to my stuff on the phone.
guess am i happy with that? absolutelly no privacy control (and a little when there is).
this might work for a facebook citizen but definetly not for an active employee who has responsibilities!
Everything is instantly synced with your google account. Calendars, events, emails, contacts, anything you want (even SMS).
If you don't want anything to be synced, you can turn off this feature anytime you want.
Besides that, HTC automatically merge your duplicate contacts and matches contacts from different services (FB, whatsapp, emails, SMS, different phone numbers, etc..)
BashLogic wroteI really have to say that my nokia n900 has more tweakable features than android does!
this really is sad since android is hyped to be so tunable. so far this claim has validated yet.
even thou i was not planing of getting the nokia n9, now i am thinking of it. and contrary
to what my thoughts were latelly about nokia systems. i must say that symbian is darn well
compiled and i am looking forward to the release of the belle which should be even better.
if belle proves to be stable, i will dump the android.
Go ahead, give it a try. And tell us what you think...
