Blackberry wordlwide outage

Blackberry is facing a 3 day worldwide outage of their internet services. I own a Bold 9000 and I have been affected by the follwing:

- Browsing, Twitter, Google Talk have been completely out for 24h.
- I still get my email from time to time, but hours late (instead of the usual seconds).
- Phone and SMS work perfectly.

I haven't tested BBM or Wifi connections.

For the record I live in France. Has service in Lebanon been affected?

I did not know all my data went to Canada to RIM's servers!!

Sadly yes. Its been out for 3 days. It's like a retreat so I'm okay with it. And i believe that EMEA region data is sent to UK.

according to the bbc article, the american region (south, central, north) is handled by Canada and the rest is handled by a server in the uk. Which kinda says how unstable Rim's network has proven to be, they are trying to provide un-interrupted service for around 70 million users with only two centrals? by doing this they fall in the chaos we are seeing now.

Abu Dhabi traffic accident rate dropped by 40% during the Blackberry outage.
And Dubai's by 20%.
