Ahmad Toutounji wrotewow, is it always like that?
It's been like that for the last 3-4 weeks. It occasionally gets a little better but in general that's how it's been.

Sodetel says everything is fine from their end, go figure, so I'm ending my subscription with them, after 6 years.
Go for ogero it's the best for stability and latency,or go to idm or cyberia
It'll be either Ogero or 4G, no more 3rd tier ISPs for me.
holy shit. Right now at work on the usually slow 4 M sodetel conenction I am pinging one of our servers in europe and it is between 70 and 100 ms. It used to always be ~350 to 400 on that same server
Yeah Ping got much better lately, but are you guys getting good speeds? Mine is extremely slow, can barely get anything done
@silaci try changing your cables/filters if you haven't already done so.. I highly doubt it's purely an isp issue or else you would have an excellent connection during off peak hours. I once changed the filter and got a significant improvement in speeds..
Sodetel's latency is unacceptable, their speed is fine but the latency isn't, is there anything I can do to improve my latency?

That's what I'm thinking, IDM's new plans are great.
I'm an IDM subscriber since 2009 and I'm very happy with their quality. And they have a very good customer service.
What worries me is the new FUP they inserted, I advice you to wait to see how will their quality turn after this.
Quoted from Sodetel's facebook page:

"Dear Sodetel Loyal and Potential Customers,
We are coordinating with the Ministry of Telecommunications to finalize the technical migration that will improve both speed & volume for all our plans.
The date will be announced as soon as the required information is given to us.
No to worry, we will provide you as always with the best new packages and upgrades.
Thank you for your patience,
Sodetel Management"
Hah, I should have noticed this before sending them an email. They still deserve it anyway.

I live in Badaro, a couple of streets away from the central. I have the 6-8M package.

Planning to switch to Ogero come August.
Last night my latency magically went down to 130ms (some tf2 servers were 98) It lasted for 2 hours then went back to 390ms.
Doesn't that mean that Sodetel can but won't fix our latency problem?

that's exactly what I plan to tell them when I call them to complain about my latency, if it doesn't improve beginning of next month...

Thanks for the suggestion Andrew, but it's not on my end. As I said, it occasionally goes back to normal during off peak times.
Right now for example it's back to normal on a Sunday morning. Weekdays it's slower than a dial-up.
Makes sense. Waiting a month to change ISPs is just a pain.. i have they do something about that.
"Dear sir,

Sorry for the late reply.
The new plans will be revealed and submitted during the month of July.
You need to recharge your usual prepaid card in order to change to the new plans during july.

Thank you and regards,"

That is Sodetel for you guys. Always ahead
