Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you are using/have knowledge about a medium to high end PTP connection, I am currently using a 3COM solution which we deployed about 5 years ago, the main issue I am facing with this is that during rough/extreme weather conditions (like the rains on early sat morning) the connection is lost totally and have to be manually configured again for it to get up and running.

any products out there which can automatically mitigate weather conditions ?

any help will be appreciated.
how much is your distance?
i don't know if i got you right, but i think you need an amplifier
I guess it is just matter of replacement of unreliable equipment.
Medium are $7000+ for each link.
High-end are $30000+
Other are "low cost".

would u by any chance know of any equipment available in the medium range, any recomendations, and any vendors dealing in such equipment.
Trango Broadband, that one have some units in range $7000. Note: they have smaller units, but those are cheaper and in low-range, not that much reliable.
But you need to have RF license for frequency to enter them to country and install.

Thanks for the info ill check out the product range.

cant I get any which work on 5Ghz with some sturdy performance in bad weather?
Actually i'm sure your issue not a weather, because weather usually doesn't affect 5Ghz. And even affects, low-cost equipment reestablish link very easily, even garbage like Z-Com.
Most probably it is some power issues and equipment are not coming back properly after powerup maybe, or just resetting settings on lightening in NVRAM or etc.
ohh i see its microwave link, i thought it was a standard wifi bridge :)
As nuclearcat said weather conditions doesnt effect microwave radios ,only rain is an issue for radios in the range of 20ghz band ,radios less than 15ghz doesnt get effected by weather condition, so your problem is bad equipment or path or antenna

Thanks nuclearcat, i will recheck the the equipment, its 3com and is about 5 yrs old thanks for your help!! much appreciated.

trying to build a P2P bridge between my tp link td-8951nd wireless adsl2+ router and tl-wa500G access point in bridge mode everything is connected well... unless there is no received traffic on the access point side : /... the distance is around 10m only... any hint : /
What do you want to setup?
extend wifi signal?
Disable dhcp on the access point.

Are you sure about the wireless security settings on the extender ?
yep both sides are well set up... i'm very pissed off! everything worked well this morning... suddenly it stopped : O
try to change the ap lan ip to something like 192.168.0.150 if your main router is 192.168.0.1
It is not receiving any data ..itis not connected to the router ..dhcp off..nat off..lan ip different
i found whats the problem... thanks... it wasnt any conflict... just you dont have to put the password in wireless settings for bridge mode.. thanks anyway ?
