There are several issues we should not be happy about. You simply cannot compare Lebanon with any other country.
Assuming the proposed dates by the minister are correct, things will get better by 2013 (time it takes for fiber to reach home). That would ultimately mean that we'd be 2 years behind rather than being 10 years behind and that's ok for now.
Indeed, and since 4G is not standardized yet, we should be fine. The MAIN priority would be getting these new speeds at a reasonable stability reaching the mass. The ministry bought 100 LTE Antennas that will be installed around Universities for Pilot testing.
Regarding Fiber Optics, i tend not to be very optimistic when it comes to long term plans specially that we are expecting serious political issues in the near future. Technically speaking, Fiber Optics will open up many opportunities.
The question is, would they still allow VOIP Services?
