trophyhunter wrotewhat is steam anyway?please reply
Steam is how we buy most of our original games now. Nobody buys physical copies anymore, because there will just be a Steam key in it anyway, and the files wouldn't matter as well because of updates and such. Steam was made by Valve (The guys who made Half-Life and Source games), it's also a social network now, like PSN and Xbox Live, but you game on the game's servers. The Steam client just connects all your friends to invite each other in games, buy/give gifts to each other, have level ups as a gamer in your profile and lots more. The reason why some of us buy games from Steam instead of pirating them is because people work night and day to make the game in order to get paid and make money. If we like the game, we should pay the 5 bucks and buy the damn thing. Not to mention we'll have online access and ownership of the game.
Origin is the same as Steam, but for EA games. Because EA.
AVOlio wroteGuys, i am new to downloading games on Steam.
Last night i left the download on for Counter Strike, today i saw that it was like 2.2GB/3.6GB.
But when i paused it, and resumed the download, it started from scratch, from the beginning.
Though in the Steam Apps, downloading subfolder, there are still over like 6GB of files of the game there.
So what is happening, and how to fix this?
It looks like it's starting from scratch, but it checks for files first and then continues to download.
