vegetaleb wroteI had a megane and a C4 before the Corolla, I losed the C4 in a big accident but apart some leaking water it was the most enjoyable car I ever drived, corolla has no problems at all but the fun of driving is not here!
Megane was a total mess, it had too much problems, that's why I didnt take the new very sexy coupé because I am still afraid of problems.
The Citroen DS3 is like mini cooper,it's a fun and very good looking car.
Corolla is more for a +35y guy or lady or family!
I guess if you pick well then it's OK to buy a French car :)
Yes, Renault Megane cars break easily - I am not sure about the newer ones but I would not bet on them either. As for Peugeot (and Citroen - I assume) they often have electrical problems. Usually more annoyances then problems, though. But they're quite ridiculous software/electrical bugs, like for example the window closing on it's own, that sort of thing. I am not a huge fan of French cars in General, but they have good offerings, I concede, and they have good crash safety.
