Latest game discs come in XGD3 backup format require new firmware LT+ 2.0 (it is wrong to say ixtreme for that firmware is obsolete ever since 1.6) Today its called LT and LT+

1. What is this XGD3 format?

Some new disc format that has more data in it for MS to use for well more space and added security

2. Does this mean i can't play my 5000 LL games?

No not really, just be PATIENT.

3. Some guy told me about a JTAG what is it ?

A JTAG lets you run unsigned data so basically you can do whatever you please with your 360 - this even includes running games directly from the HDD (With no DISC inside) as well as running games from a External HDD via USB and even alows you to pirate XBLA and DLC !

4. Cool, should i do it ?

If you know what your doing go ahead, it needs some soldering experiance

5. Do you know anyone who does it ?

No not really - you will more or less "frakenstein" your 360 it wont look pretty - also if piracy is your main goal then stay with a flashed drive .

Once you see the LT+ 2.0 become AVAILABLE go down to your favorite mod shop and request it - they will know

Other than a JTAG you can't play all new/XGD3 backup games - no fixes with such things.

You probably have a old Sammy or Ben-q drive - be proud - and also how on earth would anyone still have such an old console still alive, the ones i see the most these days are e74'd or RRoD beyond repair.

Long story short: Just wait. This C4eva is a stealth freak (he makes LT firmware as safe as possible on XBL) - he likes to like triple and even quadruple check his work

Hang out on the channels he is on IRC - they should be somewhere in the above link - there is also others who will gladly answer your questions

it's more accurate to say they do it before every major dashboard update - it just so happens it's around the release of new fresh popular games.

i HEAR reports of certain games not working with Samy's these days - but be safe and don't play those games that wipe your drive

i ain't defending Nino but this guy knows his facts - and just for your knowledge you WILL need LT2.0 for samsung drives to enable XGD3 backups to be read

To be quite honest we can't possible know yet :P

all games that are of XGD3 format have been dumped only in a format that JTAG consoles can "understand"

There still hasn't been a disc-based game dump of the game - only when that happens go ahead and try

As for me i didnt buy any new games as it will flash my dvd drive and i will loose my mod, theres a workaround though is to reflash your original firmware (before updating your dashboard) and then install the new update via usb and then reflash the 1.9 firmware, i didnt try this but i've read it somewhere, but anyway ill wait for 2.0 to be on the safe side.

You are absolutely correct

this is usually done to avoid a "flagged" console on Microsoft's side for those who still are on XBL

Not only that but with the eminent release for LT+ 2.0 i highly predict c4eva will release LT for all SLIM models !

Note: all literations of LT were just to fix those 6 games or so (call of duty, Halo and what not) that were being blocked out after every update. This is why we have LT 1.1, 1.9 and 1.91 so on and so forth

LT+ 2.0 is a BIG update - for all XGD3 games, so you can only imagine how long it MAY take and the amount of testing it will need.

Not to mention i believe c4eva is doing so in such a way in order to keep our old burned games - there is a high possibility that games ever since Fifa 10 had dorement AP2.5 checks and with any dashboard update this may lead to us having to patch and reburn all our games since then (again this is what is believed till now)
