Koyaanisqatsi
Hello,
The story begins last week when I suddenly decided to buy a tablet. Initially, I wanted to get an Amazon Kindle because my main concern was to be able to read pdf books but after giving it a very quick thought I decided to put more money and get something decent so I ended up with Motorola Xoom. Keep in mind that I know nothing about tablets and mobile phones or the internet they require.
...And I had to discover it the hard way. Turns out the model I got (MZ604) has only wi-fi built into it, no 3G. That didn't sit well with my plans because I was hoping to stay connected online where ever I go. However, after some extensive research I learned that I could buy a cheap Android phone with 3G support and tether it to the tablet via bluetooth which will solve my problem.
Now the question is when is 3g connection coming to Lebanon? I heard from people and read on the internet (including posts on this forum) that it'll be here with the next 2 months. If this is the case, how much do you think it's gonna cost? Will there be a severe bandwidth limitation? Because that will be a serious turn off. How fast will it be? Are we talking aroung 6-8 mbps? I don't think we will get the full 21mbps but 6-8mbps is a good compromise.
And what about the broad band? Is it coming too?
I've been experiencing some changes is my internet speed lately, it started a week ago. For example, today my download speed was at 300kbs for 30 minutes and then dropped for 100kbs. What are your thoughts on the subject?
