Hello,
There doesn't seem to be much talk online over the advantages of tablets, what I'm mostly finding are reviews. I'm thinking with 3G becoming available in Lebanon soon, can anyone state any advantages of using such devices that could convince me to buy one right away ?
For example, as a University Student, I find it suitable for reading eBooks, solution manuals and the such ... Also, I would tether my android phone and enjoy browsing on the go, on a much larger screen. But I dont find my reasons worth the 500 $ price tag on both these successful devices.
Any suggestions ?

IPad 2 is single handedly the best device I've ever bought. Both me and my wife make heavy use of it, mainly at home.
We have 4 email accounts synced as exchange, when the pad beeps and were watching a movie, al l we do is simply hand it to one another.
During our morning coffee we check our daily websites with ease, the browsing experience is far better than anything else.
When my parents come and request to see my nieces pictures on my sisters faccebook account all I do is pass it to them.
When my parents want to talk to my sister on Skype (video) all I do is call, and recently I'd hook up the HDMI converter to the iPad and we get to watch my sister and my niece in a 42 inch screen and she gets to see us back, sitting in one room.
When my wife wants to add a new blog entry, she grabs a glass of wine, the iPad, goes on the balcony, relaxes on the couches and just uses the wordpress app to submit her blog entry.
When I want to catch some movie on YouTube, I can do it anywhere in thhe house withOut having to worry about heavy laptops. The space that the iPad occupies is virtually nothing.
When I'm having dinner in the kitchen and I want to catch a quick game of poker, all I do is log in.
I almost never, ever worry about battery life, with our use, the iPad lasts for days on end.
Sometimes I monitor my desktop system through my iPad through a remote controlling application.
Reading books have never been more fun.

What am I missing? Better Internet connectivity to make my experience more enjoyable.

xterm, you've just convinced me into buying an iPad2! I won't been needing it as much as you and your wife do, but still, I believe I will have enough reasons for buying one.
I was thinking of buying a new phone, but the tiny screen always stops me from spending $500 on a phone. An iPad2 is definitely a much better alternative.
