My Laptop has become Central Command for tiny ants!

Ya this is quite funny lol

noticed the problem when about a week ago I squished a few on my screen.. but today.. I saw more and more come out and back in throw my keyboard gap=>they're living inside! even probably laying eggs!!

they're really small... and I know If I don't fix the problem soon I risk my laptop's circuits being damaged :(

anyone got any suggestions on getting them out of my laptop? spraying them might be an option but it will leave the dead ones inside and the chemicals may also damage circuits/parts :/

any suggestions/advice?

Open the laptop up if you can, remove the keyboard, and spray that stuff that clean the board (I'm sorry, not familiar with the name, we just call it The Spray). It will kill them all and clean your laptop's insides.

Place some sugar outside the laptop's chassis and guide one there...assuming they don't have a nest in the laptop itself xD once the live ones are outside the laptop...use a mascara brush to sweep out the dead ones from any area close to the motherboard...then take the ants outside with a piece of paper (alive)...no need to kill them.

The pheromones they place, even if inside the laptop, evaporate very quickly, so you don't have to worry about that...it's just a miniscule amount too. This is why I guess you have to dismantle the laptop completely (keep the cooler there or reapply thermal paste though).

well I just found some good news.. the ants aren't originally coming from inside the laptop... I found more crawling from the floor to the table, which I guess then they crawl up to my laptop above the cooling pad lol. So this elimates the possibility of there being a nest in it (*phew* lol )... now I just gotta find out the main source of them.. caz I can kill them.. but they'll keep on' coming If I don't cut the supply route. They might be coming from under the table I put the laptop on(which hasn't been moved in Ages).. for now though, time for sleep :P

If you kill them...they'll either find someplace else...or they'll respawn (lol)...you gotta guide them away from the laptop...set up bait...you could gradually set up bait until they reach the door and leave quietly :P haha good luck!

Put some sugar in the CPU, they will all go there to have some, while your PC is on they will get fried as they try to get some caramel :P
