Toufic wroteAdnan wroteI talked with an electrician today for a rewiring and I'll do it soon. Thankfully it doesn't require lots of in-house digging which I was mostly afraid of. It'll cost 25000 for him and around 20000 for the cable (5th floor).
Just before you start doing that; i talked to an engeineer ( a neighbor that lives right next door), he informed that the crucial thing about speed is distance to CO.
I had the same in mind but not any simple change/upgrade to the lines will do the job of improving your internet speed.
I posted a thread a couple of days go if anyone knows someone who has a clue on how to do a proper good upgrade to the cables in order to improve speeds.
Here's what one of the members of the forums said:
Test it first directly from the phone box before doing any changes.
I haven't asked the electrician we know if he's familiar or not because I'm not sure where I can find a RJ11 phone junction box like this

If I don't find something like that, I'll just cut an RJ11 cable and hook the wires directly with the ones in the phone box + a filter. The only main issue I have is the disastrous phone box we got in the building, I'm unsure yet which node is for our home.
I'll be testing it next week and then I'll call the electrician. I'l post here if he's familiar with these sort of things.
Honestly, not just electrician. You need guy who understand well how to lay a wire that has to handle up to 2Mhz without getting excessive attenuation and noise.
I doubt u can find any, its hard to find qualified electronics engineer who knows this questions.
If the electrician you found it capable of managing/doing the above, please share his work number with all of us on the other thread/post.
Thank you
