Project Morpheus

We all saw how wii started the motion controlled gaming.. and how sony and microsoft turned it to more advanced stages through move and kinect..
here is the future of gaming, 3d virtual world through headset. If you ever watched sword art online ... soon it will be reality
with several developers trying to jump in.. i found sony project morpheus the most attractive.
project morpheus will be compatible with ps4..
some of its specs that the headset can identifie the tv.. so you will have stuff generated by the tv and stuff  by the headset..also they are workin to make it identifie some object.. like a light sword from starwars and you will be able to see other with morpheus on in the virtual world you are in...
options to use this seems unlimited.. i personally can imagine an open world RPG where you can walk anyway you like and challenge people..sit under a tree.. fish in a river.. fly on a phoenix back.. and more

Oculus rift is great but as far as i am concerned sony are the leading company in gaming nowadays and that's not just my opinion because you can check the console selling rates, however my point is that sony has more capability hardware and software wise.
also about porn first game second, i say everyone has his own taste about these thing, and i dont mind virtual world porn or games, both are cool .

Sony's move is not going to be cheap, the Morpheus is rumored to be sold for a lot more, and the only use of it would be for Sony consoles (which is the PS4).

I'm expecting to see a tremendous rise in VR in the next 5 years, whom will give us the opportunity to have this "presence" feeling astonished and satisfied soon enough.

Oculus is trying to make profit in a logical way, it's been said that you'll be buying the Rift's hardware at its price, with no to low profit (unlike Apple). Its partnership with Samsung, Nvidia and Facebook is going to give it more accessibility since now it's a multi-billionaire company.

Let's not forget that Morpheus is a "behind the scenes" project at the moment and is not publicly available, so I might be pre-judging here, viewing the specs are quite similar, the Morpheus has some downs as well as some ups compared to the DK2, but of course, each has its own benefits.

Also a lot of games that didn't have oculus rift compatibility (like mirror's edge or skyrim) were modded so that they were compatible. But I don't think killzone 3 a ps3 exclusive could be made compatible with project morpheus. A limited amount of games will work with project morpheus.

Well the important thing is that companies are having increased interests i  the VR world developpement, so we(the tech maniacs) will have something new to look up for in the upcoming years as hinted by johnaudi. By the way i saw a half life demo on the oculus rift on youtube that was quiet awesome so i wont underestimate oculus, yet the secrecy that sony are maintaining on morpheus means they are up to something big

I'm going to be honest with you, I really, really hope so.

If Project Morpheus has higher standards than the Oculus, that could mean a good thing, Oculus is going to try even harder to push VR deeper, making it more intense. And I am sure that I am not the only one who wants to live in a VR world before I grow 60+, we all want that sense of presence the soonest time possible.

That being said, the Oculus has done great things, aside from gaming and simulations, it has started giving medical treatments, as well as psychological ones (relaxing, porn, etc...), as well as helping people that are unable to do certain stuff (go outside) to do it virtually. (seeing this granny using the DK1 lead me to tears)

There has been already a lot of hardware designed for more reality immersion such as the Omni-Treadmill, leap motion...

Back to the main topic, I'd say don't get your hopes up for the Morpheus at the moment since it would only be available for a limit FPS-1st person games on the PS4 (COD, BF4, Killzone so far), whereas look at the endless possibilities your PC can give you.
