Is UDP port 7777 blocked? I cannot connect to planeshift.
I think eventually everyone will have to switch to ADSL
VISP is still using satellite links it seems.
PS: or maybe your link is over-shared.

But from personal observertion, there are times when the wireless signal is problematic and I had to call them a week ago again but they fixed it again. They seem to be fixing problems when I call them or go to their office so I am happy.

the problem is that i can't get a landline and visp is monopolizing that market

Same here. Not getting a landline is my problem.
classic friday night connection
Things have taken a turn for the worst the last week or so.

anyone else having random drops in connection? ping is stable ~115 but connection stops randomly every minute or two for a few seconds.
traceroute stops after globalproof.
Well something is happening. at 12:15 noon every day, one big spike happens. then another one at 14:15 (I am guessing scheduled change in QoS?). then by 4PM, connection actually starts stopping completely (now just slowing down).
No browsing or anything for a whole minute every 5 minutes or so (ping to 2.2.2.10 is still under 10ms all the time).
I feel them too and more frequently
traceroute to google.com (74.125.132.139), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
1 172.16.41.1 (172.16.41.1) 12.774 ms 15.796 ms 23.078 ms

This happens for over 30 seconds almost every other minute now. It started happening after the 5 hour outage on the 3rd of this month.
Edit: well it lasted till 4:15PM today...

Now the outages are 2 minutes long. one minute internet. two minutes no internet.
Ping terrors and two minute outrages...
Be patient with VISP at this time, they use wireless (and satellite) links so they are affected by the weather.
yep, I had a very bad ping for 2 days and today my provider seems to have fixed it

Nope. no satellite links. ping is 70 to 110ms at the worst. 60s during off hours.
Something must be malfunctioning in their routers are the very least.
Actually during bad thunderstorms, the connection is better since the load decreases.
VISP doesn't use satellite. They are completely legal now.
Edit: Again, my ping is really good. mostly stable at 70s. The internet just stops every other minute.
The next step in the traceroute is the router with the ip 1.0.0.0 so I am guessing that router is having problems.
Edit (20140314) Again, same time today.

my ping at 2.2.2.10 is hideous with a 500ms average
what could be the problem?
no idea. no internet for one minute at a time here.
Yeah, i will call them tomorrow. one minute lags is a lot. I am losing a ranking in my online game because of it.

I guess that the problems appeared since the last storm a couple of days ago.
It was great for a couple of month
Since the 3rd of this month. There was a big outage for a few hours. I called them and they said it needed time to fix. It worked again that evening but with random one-minute outages.
They start at 4PM and stop around 11PM,

2014 ladies and gentlemen
it is now stopping for 60 seconds every three minutes.
I really think this is some malfunctioning router somewhere at VISP.

did you contact them?
Over the phone yesterday which really didn't do much good. The person who replied thought I meant for "one minute a day" instead of "for one minute at a time". So I just gave up. Today was especially bad.
