Nope, because ping to VISP was still under 4ms. anyway, it's better now.
since a month, pings have been horrible
the only playable pings are from 2am till 6am
I guess it's the strat to force the fixed ip

Yes you need real IP to play online at anytime.
What's with the slow connection every damn night ?! I can barely open google!
if I open anything, my connection stops....
64 bytes from 172.16.41.1: icmp_seq=30 ttl=64 time=2.84 ms
so NOT a local problem

My neighbor and I have the same problem.
How can I contact him? Any email?

I would rather some email please. I have a prepaid cell phone card and no land line. It takes way too long to explain things over the phone.

Great, thank you very much for your time, nuclearcat :)
update us guys on how you fixed it
Still the same problem. i emailed Anthony. my connection stops for two to three minutes when i try to upload something.
guys how is the ping in the VISP DSL?
No reply to the email I sent. and I am trying to download an update for my phone. it keeps disconnecting after 2 or 3MBytes.
and the link doesn't support resume
so I will probably use like 10Gbytes of bandwidth trying to download a 257MByte file. awesome!

it seems it's a problem with the cache
happens a lot with youtube
I just tried to download something that was cached before. it downloaded at close to 1 megbyte and the pppoe link dropped.
three times in a row now. pppoe link keeps dropping.
and http://support.visp.net.lb/ says access denied.
I got disconnected 8 times in last hour. I called visp. they said no you don't have a problem. i think I know if my pppoe link is dropping and reconnecting. any computer user does.

probably. if it continues till morning, i will go to their office. they are like 5 minutes by car from my house.
It suddenly got better again at 9PM yesterday but now is bad again.
Check your consumption percent at mystat.visp.net.lb
To tell you the truth the only way for this net to be really great is:
1) Put real IP.(gives you great ping all through out the day and night, also helps with Skype and torrents)
2) Don't over consume.(this will disable burst speed, which will make pings go high under large populated areas, or certain skills.)
Only two simple steps, but sometimes server problems may come like random disconnections, or pure slowness.
My friend uses it only and he says he is very happy with it.
Once by 3am (yes it is very early so you may think of course its going to be fast but read) I was playing LoL with Skype open and he was downloading AND live streaming a game on twitch.tv at 768p and not a single lag.

I always had real IP even before it was a paid feature :)
I don't do torrents.
Edit: well i finally got a reply from them today on the phone and they said they would take a look. that's good enough for me.
My consumption is only 80% so this should not be a FUP trick.
Also today "suddenly" pppoe link keeps disconnecting every time I browse the internet at exactly 9AM.

ok, i got it. at 9:30 PM when the shapers kick in and everyone is not overspeeding, my connection is ok. at 9:00AM when everyone is at full speed, my link to VISP keeps dropping.

Looks like it was someone trying to 'hack into' the wireless machine so they changed the signal.
Edit: Big mess. power failed yesterday afternoon while they were remotely fixing the machine and it bricked or something.
They had to come today to fix it.
