http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/4963739 … _2012#blog
the download is said to be about 4GB i am downloading as we speak will update the total size when its done.
See you in Hell :)

Oh, my, God.
First one to get the download, please post here, i'll pass by and pick it up from you! (And pay if needed)

xterm I am trying to download, but the download speed is really really bad for me ... since 10am its only done about 450mb

I downloaded it overnight when i received the Beta Key...
Total size is: 4.80 GB
You won't be able to play it anyways if you don't have a decent connection. (you can't play it offline)

I played it on open beta yesterday, worked well at early morning, now servers are busy so cant get in.

Downloaded the game in couple hours, then I just never was able to log in.
Been trying every now and then since Saturday... oh well.
Wanted to see if it runs on this laptop before I buy it but I guess I wouldn't know...

Unless you're playing public (Co-op) games, that is not true. The game does not need a good connection because the synchronization of the data is not real-time when playing single player.
In a sense, you are playing offline, but your character progress is saved online.

Things you need to do to be able to login:
1- Switch the servers to "The Americas" and not "European". This can be done in the game menu on the character selection screen. When you select The Americas, click apply.
2- Enter your battlenet ID (email) and password but copy the password as well.
3- Press enter and wait 2 seconds, if it fails, press enter again, CTRL+V to paste your password and repeat.
You need to be fast on this because Blizzard limited the simultaneous connections allowed.

Finally,
I completed the Beta with Barbarian and Demon Hunter. It's quite simple really as expected but it's loads of fun. If you're familiar with the entire blizzard concept of game characters, talent trees, items, stats and the lot, it should be very simple for you to finish it between 1 to 2 hours max. Otherwise, simply pick barbarian, hack and slash your way to victory.

Ohhhhh thank you!!!
I think I'll need a better computer anyway as my work T420 is barely able to run it with low graphics and windowed mode.

woops! is the open beta still live? im invited in the offline beta so i already had the game downloaded long ago+latest version as of 2 weeks ago, if the open beta is still live i can copy it :)

list of boring characters :
Demon Hunter, Barbarian.
list of interesting characters :
Witch Doctor, Sorcerer
list of obviously overpowered at least at low level characters :
Chuck Norris, Aka Monk.
60 Euros if buying from european or europeanized ip ( ie our great nation of Lebanon). Blizzard are pushing it with the tag relative to other games, but at least we can rest assured that its 60E of quality polished product.
I wonder if using a US proxy to log into the dl site would result in it costing 60$. Positive that other sites will start selling keys too, likely cheaper, and there are a few reputable key selling sites out there as i recall, cant recall any, but there are some.
Normal is far far far too easy as well. Loot system is made so that there is no room for bickering over it, everyone gets a different loot drop from every mob, can then trade with each other.

Any news if this will be available for PS3 ?

I have a tiny question about Diablo 3. As i heard before, there won't be an option to have "LAN" games and instead friends are forced to play together online. My question is, if i purchase a copy of Diablo 3, can i install it on my friends pc and play it there or is there a serial number for each copy that will eventually be locked on that specific pc?

Definitely not.

Your serial number is tied to an online account on battle.net. The game files, which is the client you use, are "free". What you're paying for is the license to play, not the files themselves. Hence, as long as you have purchased a Diablo 3 key and tied it to your battle.net account, you will be able to play on any computer with diablo 3 installed.

Is it true that the game will require a constant internet connection even with the singleplayer?

Yes it's true and it's a good thing, but it's not really what you'd expect from a "constant internet connection". It's not real time update so if you're playing single player you won't witness "lag". The only time (during single player) that the game uses the internet, is during key actions like probably zoning to a different area, crafting a weapon, changing gear and the lot.
During multiplayer however, it will be real time, just like any other game.
No, LAN is not supported.

boring? barbarian? definitely not, i liked the wizard most tho

Its not a good thing. Personally i only play single player games when i have no internet access for any reason.
Its not an effective antipiracy measure either, Assassin's creed II proved that nicely.
Its basically saying "Oh you are not constantly connected to the internet ? Well fuck you ! Sincerely, Blizzard".

it is a good thing, its not about piracy, its about hacks, cheats, if d3 was offline people can hack into their warriors, give them strong attributes then go online without being detected, now you can't thanks to being online all the time
