How can I know my CO? I live in Tripoli.

it is where you pay your bill probably
Oh the phone bill. Well it must be in Al-Mina.
Still no improvement in the speed?

Are they implementing ADSL2+ Annex M in some COs where there are private DSPs?Any current Sodetel subscribes can connect using Annex M?
Hey trent, I just checked, yea sodetel just switched to ADSL2+ annex_M, that is what my modem says :)
Sweet! Thanx for letting us know
Which CO do you connect thru?
Edit: noticed you said Mazraa earlier. I wonder if this will be available thru all COs, ie if areas where Sodetel is forced to use Ogero as a DSP Annex M will be available to them. Ogero in Hamra CO doesn't connect on Annex M for example.

I have a low SNR I tried to bypass the filter.. snr augmented only by 2. What could be the problem? (Now between 8 and 10) and how can I fix this? I have only 1 phone handset with a splitter on it.
Trent: I have no idea if all sodetel's connections will be annex_m :/
george i think the snr decreased because they increased the rate on your line, they are testing the lines right now to see which can handle high speeds. renewing your filters and connecting the modem directly to the ogero box can help with the snr thing. there is a snr tweak, i am not sure how it works and if it actually works
Sodetel tried to switch me on adsl2+ with a higher rate (yesterday morning). but I was forcing my modem to sync on G.DMT so the line was down. it seems that since the line was down they switched me to 1 mbps thinking that my line can't take the upgrade. Called the support and the switched it back to 4 mbps. I am not sure how to explain all this to them so that they would upgrade my data rate to test it on the new speeds.
BTW speaking of SNR, when the data rate was downgraded to 1 mbps, my snr was 38.2. when I switched it back to 4mbps, snr became 22.5 (that is what i usually get). Any idea how much the SNR will decrease when I switch to 8 mbps?
I wish I knew... same here. SNR is getting very bad

I barely got a connection for a few hours today. Is it just me ?

My connection is normal but the latency is high again.
Same here Adnan, no connection, where do you live?
Connection has been stable all day. Same pings 75ms to google.
but again my rates are not upgraded yet so maybe i has something to do with that

I live in Tripoli. I called tech support, my DSL indicator was blinking so they told me the problem is on my side. We have two phones so I picked one and it was too noisy so I disconnected it, and the indicator became still but the Internet indicator red. I called them again and now it's working.

Adnan has the rate changed again? and the actual speed?
The rate keeps changing during the day, mostly while my connection is down. But apparently when it's up again it goes back to ~4Mbps / ~1Mbps.
Nothing for the actual speed. Ping is good.
PS: I'm subscribed to the 2Mbps package.

How's ping?
omar_killer wrote:How's ping?
Still getting 300-400ms on all servers (tested on both pingtest and cmd)
didn't get any speed upgrade yet on the new 8Mbps plan - MRAIJEH CO

did you check the rate on your modem if it's still 4mbps?
For some reason I'm starting to get my so long 2Mbps that never was, plus a few kilobits. Same for upload which never was so "on the spot". I guess they're increasing their gauges.

I'm on 4 mbps plan, my speed test rn shows I am only receiving 1 mbps. but the data rate is still 4mbps.
Can ISPs, technically speaking, put you on a speed that is less than the rate shown on your modem? i don't think it is caused by overload since it is rather stable on 0.94 mbps when testing on multiple servers

My Rates are now 8Mbps(down)/ 1Mbps(up), the speedtests shows only 3Mbps down

just curious, what are your snr margin and line attenuation values?
