Yea, I called them an hour ago. They said they don't know yet. lol
my ping is down again, getting a ping of 88ms to google.com
my ping is down again, getting a ping of 88ms to google.com

to make sure that the change is consistent you need to disconnect then reconnect the modem
I had low ping for 2 days after I posted on this thread (~120ms)
But sadly today it went back up to ~350ms
all ISPs have switched to the new plans tonight. What about Sodetel? Their site still indicates the old one.
Sodetel just called me, I didn't get to talk to them I was in a meeting. Did anyone else (sodetel users) get a call from sodetel today?
if so, what was it about?
never mind , i resolved it.

Sodetel just announced their new packages but they won't be effective until August 1 and the unlimited quota is from 1 to 8 am :(
Quoting from their website:
We are glad to announce the new DSL packages, which increase speeds and volumes for the same prices.
These packages will be applied starting the first of August 2014. In case the Ministry of Telecommunications allocates the technical capacity during July 2014 we will reflect the improvement on your current packages immediately and we will inform you of that.
The same Prepaid Cards will remain valid during and after the migration.
The reason why we are not applying the new packages before the technical capacity upgrade from the Ministry of Telecommunications is to avoid giving more volume at the expense of lower speeds and lower quality of service.

16 mbps ? That is pretty awesome ..
16 mbps ? That is pretty awesome ..
Yea, almost ADSL2+ maximum speed
Lol speaking of the quality of service, Sodetel has the worst QOS already.
Are sodetel pings good and stable?i'm with ogero and the ping to orange paris using speedtest is 78ms

Sadly no, read the above comments.
Also
Nice packages !
Aren't these stats bad ? I guess I can't handle 4Mbps ? Well but I already have 2Mbps, so can anyone explain how come ?

I already have 4Mbps and I am thinking of upgrading to 16Mbps.. how will I know if my line supports it?
How is Sodetel gonna provide 1.5 and 2 mbps on the upstream channel?
Are they implementing ADSL2+ Annex M in some COs where there are private DSPs?
Any current Sodetel subscribes can connect using Annex M?

georgesmh can you please post your DSL information, as those I posted above ?
Compared to other providers Sodetel has less packages offered, plus why did they decrease the unlimited time from 1 to 8?! IDM still has it from 11 to 7! Im thinking on switching to IDM , what do you think?
@antolica IDM seems to be more expensive.. at 40$ sodetel offers more speed (8 vs 6) with a slighty lower quota, and they dont have FUP on large packages while IDM does. About the 1 to 8 am unlim quota, I called them and they told me they will talk to management if multiple users called them for a change maybe from 12 to 7.

Adnan Here is my DSL info: Which maximum speed my line supports?

I'm not sure Georges, but you can try this calculator: http://www.speedguide.net/dsl_speed_calc.php
But I think there should be other factors, because when I enter my line attenuation on this calculator (and many others similar to it), it says my line won't work at all, and I'm actually confused with the high values I have.

This is the output I got (I put 13.81 the default value for Cable Loss. I don't know what else to put):
I don't know what is the dsl mode if 1 or 2+ but it's nice to know it supports 6Mbps

@gerogesmh your SNR is already relatively low and while certain European ISPs can tolerate bringing SNR values down to 6 or 3, I don't think that will be the case in Lebanon. You might experience frequent disconnections. Anyway, apply for higher speeds and find out what happens...
Sodetel's Quota Website is currently out of service - hope they're updating the databases
